This report provides a targeted extract of placement details, designed to meet the reporting requirements of customers funded by DET NSW for work placements in 2026. It will only appear as a report if you have been identified as a WPSP, which enables NSW SPR functionality and NSW-specific reporting tools and customisations.
Report Scope
The report includes placements that meet all three of the following criteria:
- The placement has the DET Funded tag applied (added via the Placement Details screen — this tag was introduced in early 2026 to allow precise scope control)
- The placement status is one of: Arranged, Cancelled, Complete, In Progress, or Incomplete
- The placement start date falls within the date range fields (if entered)
Report Access
This report is available through your Pathways account via the Placements module — look for the NSW WPSP Reporting link. Report Sharing is a separate, optional feature and is covered later in this article.
Report File Format
Like other exports in Pathways, this report is generated as a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) file, with data organised in columns and header rows identifying each data field. Once generated, the file will download automatically to your browser's default downloads location (typically your local Downloads folder).
Once downloaded, this file may contain sensitive or personal information and should be handled in accordance with your organisation's data handling policies.
Report Sharing
Some reports in Pathways may have the ability to set up and authorise a "Report Sharing" arrangement. Report Sharing is a Pathways feature to support providers who participate in government-funded programs that require data to be submitted to a funding body as part of their program obligations. This is a secure method for sharing the contents of a specific report with a designated third-party partner. By enabling Report Sharing, you are granting that partner the ability to access the contents of that report using data from your Pathways account.
Before enabling Report Sharing, please ensure you understand the following:
- Report Sharing is a deliberate consent decision and should only be made by an authorised person within your organisation
- Once enabled, the designated partner can access the report without further action from your team
- You can disable Report Sharing at any time by returning to this screen
- If you have questions about why a partner is requesting access or what it means for your organisation, contact that partner directly before proceeding
To enable report sharing:
- The logged in user must be tagged as the Account Owner
- Click the "Setup" button in the blue sharing panel
- Select the Report you wish to share
- Select the Report Sharing Partner you wish to authorise
- Carefully review the "Consent Text" provided by your Report Sharing Partner
- Click the "Enable Sharing" button if you wish to proceed
If your user account is not tagged as an "Account Owner" you will be restricting from enabling report sharing:
Frequently Answered Questions
Question: I have a question about the data contents of the report.
Answer: Please contact the NSW Department of Education directly for questions about the report's contents or how it should be used within your organisation or with the Department. This includes questions about the data included, the scope and the usage of the report.
Question: If I enable Report Sharing, does it only apply to the report I select?
Answer: Yes. Report Sharing applies only to the specific report you choose — in this case, the DET NSW Placement Report Pack (2026). You control exactly what data is shared and with whom.
Question: If the report is updated in the future, does my Report Sharing consent still apply?
Answer: If the report changes, your Report Sharing settings and consent are automatically cleared. The Pathways Account Owner(s) will need to review and re-enable Report Sharing for the updated report.
Question: Do I have to enable Report Sharing to use the report?
Answer: No.
Question: Who can enable Report Sharing?
Answer: Report Sharing for the 2026 DET report can only be enabled by the designated Account Owner(s) for your organisation.
Question: Does Report Sharing impact the security of Pathways.
Answer: No. Report Sharing is a consent management feature that gives account owners control over their sharing relationships. It is configured per Report and per Report Sharing Partner, which is useful for organisations managing multiple funding bodies or partner relationships with varying reporting requirements and workflows.
